THE BOOK OF LIFE
Life is a book in volumes three---
The past, the present and the yet to be,
The first is done and laid away;
The second we’re writing day by day;
But the third and last of the volumes three
Is locked from sight, God keeps the key.
LATEST NEWS
We are in the process of putting together a history of the church dating back to the first service in February, 1999. We hope to have it ready very soon.
At the February congregational meeting we voted to donate $1,000 to the cancer fund.
A love offering totaling $678 was taken at “The Floridians” concert to be donated to Samaritans Touch Care Center which is a new clinic with volunteers to give health care to indigent and low income residents. The property was donated and a local dr. will be in charge of the clinic. There will be four paid employees, the rest will be volunteers. They are a Christian organization and will have counselors all the time.
Work on a new picture directory is underway. We encourage everyone to sign up for this. Let’s make this a big success. What better way to get to know everyone in the community than to have their picture in the directory.
We have 32 committees serving the church and we have put together a list of these committees along with the 2007 budget. If anyone wishes a copy, please contact Joyce Osborn at josborn38@earthlink.net or at 382-1532

THE DENIM PROJECT
The Denim and More Project is a group of ladies making clothing, quilts, lap robes, bibs and other needed items for various organizations. We also make clothing and gifts for The Appalachian Christian Project in Kentucky. We are all volunteers and our equipment and supplies come from donations from kind, generous and loving people such as you. We thank God for any and all success we have had and appreciate and give thanks also for you.
In January the ladies in our group donated 24 quilts to Red Hat group at Kenilworth Rehabilitation Center in Sebring. Ruth Ann Yantis, Lori Eckert and Zelda Kimm did a presentation, dressed and took pictures of the group. 70 items of children’s clothing were donated to Hansen House and in February RCMA Avon Park Teen Mission received 20 quilts, 16 bibs, 9 burp cloths and 12 dresses. A special thank you to all who helped.
Our motto is a confiscated item from someone unknown but is so appropriate we take the liberty of using it.
I am only one but I am one,
I cannot do everything
but I can do something
What I can do I aught to do
And by the grace of God I will do
