CLUB NEWS

RV CLUB

The next meeting of the RV Club will be Tuesday, December 12th at 2:00 P.M. in the Bingo area. We will be finalizing our assignments for the Christmas Food Drive. Also at this meeting we will be going over our plans for the January rally to Rally Park in Tampa, and it will be time to sign up for the February rally to the Lee Civic Center in N. Ft. Myers.

Our November meeting had a busy agenda. We welcomed many new members to our club. We now have 79 RVs in the club. We made our plans for our Christmas Party Steak-Out to be held December 9th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the clubhouse. This year we decided to sell 100 tickets, and we are totally sold out! We discussed the Annual Christmas Food Drive, and passed a sheet for the members to sign up to volunteer to help us with this very worthwhile project. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of members who were willing to donate their time to help.

Then it was time to sign up for the January rally in conjunction with the big RV Show at the Tampa Fairgrounds. We had reserved 45 spots. Not only are these spots all filled, but we have 8 couples on a waiting list to attend. There was a brief discussion of our February and March rallies with more information to follow at the December meeting.

KNITTING & CROCHETING CLUB

This group of approximately 35 women meets year-round every Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Craft Room and is headed by Adele Dods. There are always 25 or more women in attendance. On going projects are baby hats for local hospitals, red, white and blue Afghans / lap robes for veterans, and sweaters for Project Guidepost. Project Guidepost provides these sweaters to needy children in the United States and around the world.

Habitat for Humanity has requested Afghans for the 22 homes they are scheduled to build in the Highland community. The women plan to begin this project as more members return for the up coming season.

Funds for postage, for shipping Guide Post sweaters to New York are provided by The Tanglewood Community Church. Most of the yarn is donated to the group by our wonderful Tanglewood residents. This donated yarn is only used for their charitable works.

If you like to knit or crochet, join these wonderful ladies who do so much for the community. New members are always welcome.
