December 2006
9 AM 4 PM Monday Friday
863-381-9032.
THIS IS FOR ELECTRICAL AND WATER SHOOTING IN THE AIR EMERGENCIES ONLY.
OUTBACK PARK MODEL, RESORT HOME AND MOTORPORT OWNERS: Please disregard my recent letter. I must have been smoking wacky weed. I’ll get a new calculator!
REC HALL PARKING: Do not leave anything parked under the covered area at the Rec Hall – even if it’s raining. This area is to be left open for dropping off and picking up handicapped persons and for ambulances, fire trucks, etc.
DROP BOX: By the time you read this, we should have a drive-up drop box installed in the island at the business office. This may be used for anything you wish to deliver to the business office; i.e., rent checks, warranty forms, etc.
PETS : The majority of our complaints are regarding residents’ pets relieving themselves on other residents’ lawns. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR PET TO RELIEVE ITSELF UNTIL YOU GET TO THE COMMON AREA AND PICK UP AFTER IT. Anyone caught putting dog excrement into the sewers will be reported to the Department of Environmental Protection. Do not bring pets to social events. Pets must be leashed at all times when outside your home.
YELLOW GRASS, BUSHES AND TREES: We see lots of lawns, bushes and trees that are begging for fertilizer. Please feed them. This will also help them be in better shape for winter.
SECURITY: DO NOT GIVE ANYONE THE GATE CODE! Your guests or contractors can call you from the US 27 gate by using the A to Z buttons on the faceplate of the gate entry system. You must have a local number. Cell phones won’t work. When your name is displayed, your personal code will appear. Your guest may either push the “Call” button or enter your code, which will cause your telephone to ring. If your guest already knows your directory code, they can simply enter the code on the keypad. Once you answer your telephone and identify your guest, press 9 on your touchtone phone to cause the gate to open. If you do not want to open the gate, simply hang up the phone.
We will soon reprogram all resident gate openers to a different frequency. If need be, as step #2, we will delete present gate openers and go to a bar code system or a proximity card system.
MANAGEMENT SPONSORED FUNCTIONS : Residents wearing a Tanglewood badge will be served ONE BEER AT A TIME. You may not get a second beer for “my wife, neighbor, etc.” Please don’t be rude to our servers by attempting to get more than one at a time
CONGRATULATIONS to Arthur Edgar and Edilma Thornburg, 3152 Going To The Sun for winning the December Beautification Award.
MANUFACTURED HOME AREA – As stated in the Rules, Paragraph 6, you may sublet your home for a single six (6) month period once every three years. The sublettee must first be approved by Management in writing. It is most important that you read and comply with all of Paragraph 6 of the Rules prior to subletting your home.
NO BICYCLES OR GOLF CARTS ON NATURE TRAIL OR SIDEWALKS – OTHER THAN THE ONE BY THE PETANQUE COURTS AND IN DREAMCATCHER.
SATELLITE DISHES:
Before signing a contract for a satellite dish, please Click Here to read the portion of this newsletter regarding the satellite dish information and installation rules.
If installed incorrectly, it will have to be reinstalled.
Must have a Tanglewood sticker. Licensed drivers only. Children operating golf carts is a tragedy waiting to happen. Don't let it be your grandchild!
WINDOW A/C UNITS : Window air conditioning units are allowed in screen rooms so as not to be visible from the street (Paragraph 7.D. of the Rules. If you have a window unit (you know who you are), either place a cover around your air conditioning unit with vinyl that matches your home or place bushes in front of the unit (if in a place where this is possible) so the unit cannot be seen from the street. Most homes have a few extra pieces of matching vinyl stored in the crawl space under the home.
Will be covered when nighttime temperature is below 60 degrees and uncovered when the daytime temperature is 65 degrees with little to no wind. NO SMOKING IN OR AROUND POOL. You may smoke under the covered patios. DO NOT ENTER POOL WITH OPEN SORES. PICK UP AND DISPOSE OF YOUR OWN TRASH. Please do not lounge in the lap area if lap swimmers are present. Open until sundown. Please place a towel between you and the chair. No food, alcohol or glass on lower deck. SHOWER BEFORE ENTERING POOL.
RV Dumpsters are for RV household garbage only. Please be courteous and do not put yard waste, batteries, tires, old furniture, etc. in the RV dumpster. This is a rule of the local landfill. Reliable Sanitation will pick up large items from all but the RV section. Call 385-0817 and they’ll tell you when they’ll be here. Yard waste is picked up in the manufactured home section the first and third Wednesdays. Yard waste is picked up in the Outback every Wednesday. Please do not place at the street until the evening before.
If you or your spouse are handicapped, (have a handicap permit for your vehicle), you may get a “handicap” badge from the Rec Director.
GOLF CART PATH GATE : Walkers and bicyclists. There is a push button to open the gate from the inside. It is located on the backside of the most northern PVC post on the east side of the path.
All prospective new residents, whether purchasing a new or resale home, must undergo a Criminal/Sexual Offender/Sexual Predator background check. No leases will be signed until the background is checked and approved.
All residents' autos, golf carts and items in storage must have a TW sticker. Storage with no sticker will be towed away at owner's expense.
YARD LIGHTS : Must be kept operational, even when you are not here. They are to have white or clear (NO COLORED) bulbs of at least 40 watts. Please keep your plants trimmed away from the light and your name sign.
Nearly all activities are run by resident volunteers and they do an outstanding job. Please, when attending a function, help by pushing your chair in, cleaning off your table, picking up any mess and helping in any way possible. Join a committee – get to know your neighbors. It’s a great way to make friends! Be a doer – not a taker.
There are to be no individual garage sales in Tanglewood without written management permission. We have two garage sales per year at the Rec Hall.
If there is a power outage, the gate can be opened and closed manually. Once the power is back on, the gate will go back to automatic operation.
New members must attend the safety class prior to using any equipment. Please sign the safety class sign-up sheet at the Rec Hall.
To make a long story short, clever thieves can have a duplicate key made simply by having the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of your car. This number is located on a label on the dashboard and is visible from outside the car. Simply place an index card (or something) over the number so it may not be seen.
Must be kept operational, even when you are not here. They are to have white or clear (NO COLORED) bulbs of at least 40 watts. Please keep your plants trimmed away from the light and your name sign. If you have an emergency, you want the ambulance driver to be able to see your address.
It’s a good idea to once a year have the underside of your home inspected for termite mud tunnels and have the roof inspected to make sure all vents, skylights, etc. are properly sealed.
No trees may be removed without prior management approval. You may pick up a Tree Removal Policy at the business office.
